The Greater Seattle's Celebration of the Taiwan's 100th Birthday

Location: QingXi Park in Seattle's International District

Come and join us in the celebration of the New Year and also of Taiwan's 100th Birthday.
On the day, you can also purchase limited edition Taiwan scarf for $5.
The organizers have also prepared enough rainsuits for everyone in case it rains.

After the flag ceremony, each participant will receive a food voucher and is redeemable at the Taiwanese Food Fair presented by Taiwan Youth Alliance of Pacific Northwest.

大西雅圖地區慶祝中華民國建國一百年元旦升旗典禮


時間：2011年1月1日(星期六)下午2時

地點：西雅圖中國城慶喜公園

為慶祝中華民國100年元旦，美國西北區僑學各界訂於2011年1月1日(星期六)下午2時在西雅圖中國城慶喜公園，舉行莊嚴隆重的升旗典禮。此項活動由美國西北區僑學各界慶祝中華民國建國一百年活動籌備委員會主辦，西雅圖中華會館承辦，僑務委員會及駐西雅圖台北經濟文化辦事處暨僑教中心協辦。特別邀請各界人士踴躍參加共襄盛舉。

中華民國要過100歲生日了，主辦單位特別呼籲，為了展現大西雅圖地區僑界歡慶中華民國一百年生日的熱情，元旦當天的升旗典禮風雨無阻，期盼本地區僑胞緊密團結在一起，將熱烈擁護中華民國的熱情，凝聚在旗海飄揚的元旦升旗典禮活動中。典禮當天將在醒獅團金鼓齊鳴以及中華民國暨美國國旗入場儀式中揭開序幕，會中並將演唱中華民國及美國國歌，緊接著在中華民國國旗歌之悠揚歌聲中升起中華民國國旗，主辦單位特別邀請所有愛國僑胞共襄盛舉，一起歡慶中華民國100歲的生日，攜手同心升起中華民國國旗，共同合唱「中華民國國歌」與 「國旗歌」，為西雅圖慶祝中華民國一百年共同揭開序幕。

元旦當日，現場並備有中華民國建國一百年紀念徽章贈送參加人員，數量有限，送完為止。此外，當日參加者可透過各社團訂購慶祝中華民國建國一百年紀念圍巾，每條5元，該圍巾以藍、白、紅三色織印出中華民國的國徽，散發出慶祝建國一百年的喜氣與熱情，有意者請向各僑團負責人洽購。承辦單位備有輕便雨衣，並再次強調元旦當天升旗典禮風雨無阻，參加者並可領取美食券一張。

內政部役政署舉辦海外役男返國服役說明會

為協助旅居海外尚未服兵役的男子瞭解國內兵役制度及解決兵役問題，內政部役政署楊科長燿旭將於本（10）月19日(星期二)專程來西雅圖舉辦說明會，提供旅居海外尚未服兵役的男子各項資訊及諮詢意見，說明會內容包括替代役制度之規劃內容重點、役期規劃、役男基本資格條件、薪俸、權益、服役工作項目、服役地點等；另就海外役男返國服役涉及之國籍、國內有無設籍等問題，一併分析有關法令規定。

本次役政說明會並提供旅居海外台裔子弟返台兵役問題解析、諮詢及意見交流，事關大家權益，希望各位鄉親、在學學生以及學生家長們保握此一難得的機會，踴躍參加說明會，並請大家告訴大家！

This information session is mainly geared towards overseas Taiwanese males that have yet served in the Taiwan military. The event is FREE so you are welcome to join us if this issue pertains to you.

台灣小吃園遊會+熱心掃街社區活動 (Taiwanese Food Fair + Adopt A Street)

「美國西北區台灣青年聯合會」主要是由華州各大學院校的台灣同學、及在各專業領域工作的台灣青年所組成。該會表示，除了希望藉由這次園遊會活動來慶祝雙十國慶、宣揚台灣美食文化之外，也將籌募該會未來的活動基金。


園遊會的美食將囊括琳瑯滿目的台灣小吃，包括：牛肉麵、油飯、炒米粉、滷豬腳、愛玉、肉燥飯、茶葉蛋、豆花、仙草綠豆等廣受喜愛的食品。份量有限，賣完為止，想要一飽口福的人，動作要快喔:)

園遊會日期和時間是星期六 10/9/2010 從 11am ~ 2pm.

園遊會後，聯合會的成員們將於下午3時-5時在中國城展開掃街活動，透過掃街來改善中國城的環境，並達到服務社區的目的。

Taiwan Youth Alliance of Pacific Northwest (TYAPN) is composed mainly of Taiwanese college students in the state of Washington. The alliance wishes to celebrate the National Day of Taiwan (ROC) by holding a food fair that celebrate the unique Taiwanese food culture.

Date /Time: Saturday 10/9/2010 from 11am ~ 2pm.

Food vouchers will we sold at the door.

The food includes: beef noodle soup, tea eggs..., and many fascinating delicacies (including sweets) that are easily lost in translation, but will blow your mind, nourish your soul, enrich your taste buds, and delight your palates. As quantities are limited, the food will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

After the fair, the members will involve with the Adopt A Street program in which volunteers sweep the streets of Chinatown/ID (at 3pm) as a part of our mission in community outreach.

TYAPN wishes to use this event for members to get better acquainted with each other. New-members are welcome, as well as anyone interested. If you wish to learn more, please contact Christine Wu at

美國西北區台灣青年聯合會章程

第一章 總則

第一條 名稱
本會定為「美國西北區台灣青年聯合會」，英文名稱為Taiwan ROC Youth Alliance of Pacific Northwest, USA。

第二條 定義
本會係由在美國西北區認同中華民國、關懷台灣社會之青年備案成立的非營利性社團組織。

第二章 宗旨與目標

第一條 宗旨
1.增進本會會員間之聯繫。
2.認同中華民國、關懷台灣社會。
3.傳承中華文化、發揚台灣精神。

第二條 目標
1.建立本會會員間橫向聯繫平台，團結互助、凝聚力量。
2.加強本會會員與中華民國台灣之聯繫，增進對家鄉社會之關懷與向心。
3.培植繼起領導人才，協導融入主流社會，參與社區服務，擴展國民外交。

第三章 組織

第一條 會員
1.本會會員分為學生會員、一般會員、顧問。
2.學生會員：本地區年滿16歲以上，認同本會宗旨與目標之在學學生，得申請加入為本會學生會員。
3.一般會員：認同本會宗旨與目標，非具本會學生會員資格之社會人士，得申請加入並經本會同意者，為本會一般會員。
4.顧問：認同本會宗旨與目標，並積極協導本會發展之人士，本會得敦聘為顧問。

第二條 會員之權利
1.發言權。
2.提案權。
3.表決權。
4.選舉權。
5.被選舉權。
6.罷免權。
上述第5項內容不適用於顧問。

第三條 會員之義務
1.繳交會員會費。
2.遵守本會章程及決議。
3.擔負本會所指派之任務。
4.出席會員大會、各種例會及活動。

第四條 會員大會
1.本會以會員大會為最高權力機構。會員大會每年召開1次，時間及地點另行公告與通知。
2.會員大會的職權為：
(1)選舉、罷免會長。
(2)提議增訂或修改本會章程。
(3)確認上次會議之決議執行情形。

第五條 組織及幹部
1.本會設會長、副會長、秘書組、活動組、公關組、聯絡組、資訊組、財務組、總務組、美術組。
2.本會置下列職務：
(1)會長一名，年齡35歲以下，需曾任本會幹部，任期為1年一任，連選得連任1次。。
(2)本地區各校登記有案之學生社團會長或代表為本會當然副會長。
(3)另推選兩位社會青年為副會長，任期與會長同。
(4)各組置組長、副組長各一名，由會長提名任命之，任期與會長同。

第四章 會務

1.本會成立第一年應辦理1次以本會名義參與主流社會之活動、召開會員大會，並健全會務(包括建立財務之監督機制及架設本會網站)；次年起每年應辦理至少2次以本會名義參與主流社會之活動、1次會員大會。
2.本會支援參與支持中華民國台灣之愛國節慶活動，並定期更新網站內容。
3.會長得指定幹部每季提報活動報告，每半年以公開形式公告之。

第五章 經費來源

1.會員會費。
2.各項活動盈餘。
3.個人或其它團體贊助或捐贈。
4.其他收入。

第六章 章程之生效與修訂

本章程經第一次會員大會同意通過後生效，章程之修改，需經會員二分之一以上之連署，提交會員大會，並經出席會員二分之一以上同意後修訂之。

Welcome to TYAPN

TYAPN (Taiwan Youth Alliance of Pacific Northwest USA-美國西北區台灣青年聯合會) was established on May 22, 2010.

The main goal of the formation of this organization is to provide a platform for students and young professionals in the pacific northwest region to connect with each other. So far, we have representatives from the following schools/groups and we are working hard to expand to the vicinity states.

We hope to build a strong Taiwanese community and provide a networking platform so students can become more involved with the community and have a route for volunteer/job finding in USA and in Taiwan. Throughout the year, we will also host events to spread the Taiwanese culture and to increase bonding between our members.
